Tribe , family, community.Like minded or related people again, not needing eachother to survive...or do we?
The human animal is a pack animal. We require interaction, not so much for physical survival anymore but for emotional, mental and spiritual growth.
When our birth families are not filling these needs we go out into the world and either create through marriage and procreation or finding like minded individuals, a new family or tribe. The need to be surrounded by those who support our growth and who we in turn can support in thier growth is a driving force within the human spirit.
BUT, when we lose our understanding of our connection with all things ,human and non human , do we lose our ability to be a conducive member to any family, community or tribe? Without empathy and understanding how can one be helpful to a tribe? Should they be removed or taught? I believe understanding is taught through example and really for that matter who is teaching who? It is often through adversity some of the greatest lessons are learned and understandings come.
With the computer and modern convinences I dont believe it is needed to live close to communicate support. A group of like minded people can still exchange ideas and thoughts. BUT , I have noticed when this happens plans are always in the works for a gathering. Basic human need to be surrounded by like minded individuals. Validation, comfort, emapthy, support can be conveyed miniumly through electronic devices.
We are animals and need to see that "love" in anothers eyes. But also there is an exchange of energy that happens only in close proximity.A healing reassurance that one is not alone in the world.A combining of spiritual energy that lifts us and expands us.
As the paradigm changes and our abilities and understandings evolve I believe our concept of what a tribe is will expand from the understandings we hold now to the understanding that we all have always been a tribe. A great community , interconnected and all doing our part ,in understanding or not, to bring the universal community to this understanding.2012
